SHIPPING POLICY
If You Are In The Dallas Area: We offer FREE hand-delivery on chocolate orders over $20 (otherwise a $8 surcharge applies). We strongly encourage this option if available because not only is it less expensive, it avoids heat-related issues (i.e. melted chocolate). We will contact you to schedule a delivery time and strongly encourage someone be available to accept delivery to avoid chocolate being left outside.
If You Are Outside The Dallas Area: Shipping is available via USPS Priority Mail. Shipping rates vary based on order size (sorry, we aren't currently big enough to get the volume discounts needed to offer free shipping).
Here are some steps we do take to ensure your chocolates arrive in the best condition possible:
-
If weather conditions warrant it, we will included warm weather packaging FREE (insulated boxes with gel cold packs).
-
Orders placed Thursday or later, we will withhold shipping until Monday so chocolates don't sit in the postal warehouse.
-
If the weather is particularly hot, we will withhold shipping until things cool off. If this happens we will contact you and you will be given the option to cancel your order for a full refund.
If you receive chocolates and it has been particularly warm outside and you are afraid your bars have gone soft, place them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to let them harden back up. Note that if this happens they may have partially lost their temper and may not look as ideal (their shine and snap may be gone), but they should still taste good once they are melting in your mouth.
RETURN POLICY
Please keep in mind that single-origin chocolates are intended to have differing taste profiles from one region to another, not everyone will like every flavor. However, if for some reason you are not satisfied with your bars, please contact us at info@expeditionchocolates.com and we will do everything we can to make things right - up to sending replacement bars or offering a refund.
A few tips for helping ensure you have the best experience possible:
-
Chocolate is sensitive to warm temperatures (it melts - no surprise). When chocolate is delivered, bring inside as soon as possible and store in a cool place.
-
For Destination Bars that include dried fruits and nuts, keep a maximum of two months or these inclusions may start to go stale. Our pure dark chocolate bars should keep much longer. Production dates are on the bars.
